But for those of us who cannot work on artwork all of the time, Professor Boyd's bisected word experiment invites people from many different backgrounds to participate in his performances and thus immediately get a complete understanding of the Postconceptualist movement. I mean, you become a Postconceptualist artist on the spot. I came into the show after a 2 year break from making artwork, having memorized a few key definitions and people, and I left the show 'getting it'. <br /><br />In order for artwork to reach many people, the public must completely understand it despite annoying limitations(no time and no art theory background). I'm glad that people have these limitations. It allows the strong ideas to spread quickly and prevents all the needlessly complex and wishy-washy ones from having the same share of the public mind.<br />-EmilyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
